Short-Term Stay After Hospital Admission
Patients that have been admitted to a hospital for a minimum of three nights may have the option for a short-term stay in our center to receive 24-hour Nursing care and Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy up to seven-days each week. Patients may also request a short-term Respite in-patient stay for periods of a few days to several months.

In-Patient Residential Stay
Patients that require a permanent in-patient stay may be admitted from the Hospital, Assisted Living Facility or Home after receiving an admission order from their primary physician.

Specialty Programs

[review] => I wouldn't recommend this place. Anytime you ask anyone for help, they will try to redirect you to someone else. Patients who are incontinent or need mobility help with the bathroom are only changed once a day.
Nurse Nikole was condescending and rude. When I approached "Dr. Michael" with a concern about my mother's swollen feet and ankles, he said "that's nice."
Barbara, the activities CNA, speaks aggressively and disrespectfully to the patients. It was very uncomfortable and upsetting to see.
I was lucky my mother was in a room near the nurses stations. The hallway at the far end of the building smelled awful and residents were usually left in the hallways unattended.
One nurse admitted she was disappointed with the lack of nutrition in the meals.
One nurse named Marley was very competent. Dondra, the social services director, and the activities manager were nice. But overall, this place was concerning and disappointing.

[review] => I am the mother of my boys’ Nana, Joyce C. All the staff and encounters I have had with staff has been great. But one particular staff member, Lisa she does activities with the residents. Lisa is so patient, kind with the best sense of humor. She can get a laugh out of anyone. She’s fun and entertaining. She is Joyce’s absolute favorite. It can be sad and depressing if you don’t have any visitors or it’s a gloomy day. Lisa tries her best to get all the residents to come enjoy some fun games. Kudos Lisa!

[review] => Recently my family had to make the decision to find a rehabilitation center for my grandmother Sylvia. Without hesitation it was unanimously decided to choose Riviera Palms. Our expectations related to this choice are the same as others, I want her to receive the BEST CARE and services. Her recovery has been amazing thanks to her wonderful nurses and assistants, she loves Michael! Having her work with the same staff more often is a huge benefit as Riviera Palms doesn’t use Agency Staff. The phenomenal Therapy staff continue to work with her daily to get her back to her old self. I can’t thank everyone enough. We made the right choice for selecting the cleanest , safest place to receive the best care in the area. I get asked often , “ But would you send your grandmother there?” My answer remains, “ It’s the only place I would.”

[review] => Our family member has been in there for 3 months, some staff is attentive, but no one ever calls back when you ask for information or to get something done like having the doctor stop in to talk to the patient, the only time they call you back is when it’s about your bill. The Patient has had pneumonia 3 times while there so far, staff did not pick up on it the second time and did nothing about it, we had to request a chest X-ray ourselves to check for pneumonia, treatment was provided and patient got worse, seems impossible to get answers and proper help. We spoke to the Riviera Palms doctor and asked him to go and see our family member as we were very concerned about his condition, the doctor said he would see him that day, but never showed up, 2 days later our family member passed away. 2 months later they had the nerve to send up more bills stating they were way overdue and that they had discharged the patient!
The rooms are very dirty in this place, dirt, stains on the floors and walls, food was not good, ants crawling around the room everyday we went to visit, disgusting.

[review] => I went here after major back surgery. I made them aware I had kidney disease and what foods I could eat. The meals were terrible and not what I could eat. In the week I was there I received very little physical therapy. The nurse call button was useless. It took 15 to 30 minutes for anyone to respond. I needed to drink a lot of water because of my kidneys but always waiting. They said both of the ice machines were broken . Every time I ask for ice cream it was melted. After a week of this I told my surgeon to either transfer me to home rehab or I would leave AMA. I don't know who is writing these glowing reviews but it must be the employees. My advice, avoid this place like the plague.

[review] => The worst rehabilitation center ever! Dirty, inedible food, and nurses that should be patients! DON'T let your loved ones stay here! The nurse tried to give my father his insulin without a NEEDLE! he had to do it himself! This is after they had none of his medications and we had to bring all of his meds from home! The worst food ever! They only give each patient 1 styrofoam cup and fill it with ice water served from a cooler! My father was at manatee memorial hospital for 32 days and the care was excellent! We were referred to Riverra Palms for PT and it was terrible! It took 3 days to get him transferred out to another rehab center! Thank god! He is now at Freedom village doing great! Make sure to check out places you are going to send your loved ones to. Lesson learned!

I have had a wonderful experience during my therapy! Everyone has been great from therapy to the nursing staff especially the "Nikole's" Highly recommended for any therapy or nursing needs.
